Matt Reilly learned consulting the right way:

Through direct involvement in every facet of campaigning – from one end of the state to the other – over the past 20 years. His career has evolved from legislative chief of staff to consultant to mentor. From raw talent to master of modern politics. He knows what works and what doesn’t; how the pieces fit together. How to work with candidates and committees. How to craft strategies that reflect California's intricate political geography and cultural behavior patterns.

About Matt Reilly

People who need their message to move public opinion and sway policy makers have turned to Matt Reilly for over 25 years.

Reilly Consulting is a full-service political and public affairs firm combining strategy development and execution of tactical programs. The firm counsels elected officials, ballot measure committees, and public affairs clients on ways to win political and public affairs campaigns.

Reilly Consulting is known for winning the hard fights that other people won’t take on. They include: Getting a profoundly deaf candidate elected to the state legislature while being outspent 7 to 1, electing a candidate who had been a Republican only 6 months prior to launching his campaign for assembly elected in a liberal seat, and resurrecting an Orange County assemblywoman to office after being wiped out in the previous election, among others.

Client services include strategic consulting and message development, TV & radio production, direct mail, earned media campaigns, crisis communications, and online advertising & management.

Reilly Consulting has been recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants for its strategic and online media work, receiving the industry’s highest award, known as the “Pollie.”

Prior to starting his own firm, Matt headed the statewide political operations for two Speakers of the California State Assembly, the Honorable Fabian Nunez and the Honorable Karen Bass, leading the Speaker’s Office of Member Services.

Matt was raised in Sonoma County, CA, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis.
